Who Is Nicole Spitz

The feeling I get every time I walk into a salon is the same feeling I got when my mother brought home new Barbie dolls for me to style.

From the time that I was five years old, I wanted to be in the beauty industry. My mom used to buy me barbie dolls and I would cut and color their hair. My mom would return home to snips of hair all over the room and color stains on the carpet from the markers that I used as hair color. My creativity and fascination with cosmetology were already revealing my future.

At the age of thirteen, my interest for cosmetology grew when I would help at the salon while my mom was getting her hair done. I loved the work and feeling I had being in a salon, I felt sure about my dreams. When I was finished high school, my mom sent me to Jean Madeline Aveda Institute of Cosmetology in Philadelphia. With the support of my family, I graduated valedictorian of my cosmetology class in 2011. For the next few years, I spent valuable time learning the ins and outs of the industry. Realizing how diverse and complex my industry is, I knew there was more for me to learn and accomplish.

I decided to test my skills and dive deeper into the exciting world of hair color theory. Gaining more traction, and more experience I was able to secure a spot being an artistic educator and became a certified master colorist. From 2014 to 2016, I traveled the Mid-Atlantic Region facilitating hair color seminars educating other hair stylists. Cosmetology has taken me many places and has allowed me to meet and work with many fantastic people. The feeling I get every time I walk into a salon is the same feeling I got when my mom used to bring me home new barbie dolls to style. The love I have for this industry, the people I work with, and, most importantly, my clients are what motivates me every day to be the best at what I do.
